A Testimony of God’s Covenant Faithfulness

April 5, 2011. The consistory of Kagay-an Reformed Church visits Bro. Maxie Tiguman in Butuan.

Bro. Maxie "shares" in a youth meeting in Butuan (less than 3 months after the accident)

At around 9:30 pm of March 30, 2011, Bro. Maxie Tiguman, RCP church planter in Butuan, had a major motorcycle accident after facilitating a module in a basic missions seminar conducted by the Asian Center for Missions. He underwent a metal-implanting operation on his left hand and left foot. Today, less than 3 months later, he walks with crutches and shares God’s word as the Lord enables and strengthens him.

  1. Please continue to pray for Bro. Maxie’s healing and recovery.
  2. Please uphold His wife and children to the Lord – that they would all continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  3. Please pray for the families in the slums with whom Bro. Maxie conducted evangelistic Bible studies before the accident.
  4. Ask the Lord to supply all the financial needs of Bro. Maxie, his family and church planting work.

Indeed, God is good and faithful to His covenant children!

About New Hope

We are a community of people who believe in and live for Jesus Christ. We embrace and proclaim the Gospel as taught in the Bible and explained in the teachings of the Reformation: Salvation is by grace alone (sola gratia) because of Jesus Christ alone (solus Christus), received through faith alone (sola fide), based on the teachings of the Bible alone (sola scriptura), all for the glory of God alone (soli Deo gloria). SALVATION IS BY GRACE ALONE, THROUGH FAITH ALONE, BECAUSE OF JESUS CHRIST ALONE, BASED ON THE TEACHINGS OF THE BIBLE ALONE, ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD ALONE.

  1. Joy says:

Hello. May I know where the Church in Butuan meets every Sunday? Thank you!

  2. Hi, Joy. Our original church planting project for Butuan was put on hold. Meanwhile, a worker from Kagay-an Reformed Church (www.reformed.ph) conducts monthly Bible studies at the Butuan branch of Tristar Paints Center (https://reformedchurches.net/2011/11/11/butuan/). We still hope to start conducting Sunday services in this city someday.

Please feel free to e-mail us at kreformed@gmail.com if you have more questions and inquiries.

    God bless,

    KRC
